IronStar Batteries Warranty

Effective Date: January 1, 2016

IronStar Batteries (formerly STB Group, Inc.) provides a limited warranty for industrial batteries against defects in materials and workmanship.

Warranty Coverage

Batteries containing 9 or more plates are covered for 5 years from invoice date. Batteries with 5–7 plates are covered for 3 years (see modified conditions below).

Warranty Credit Formula

If a battery is deemed defective under warranty, a prorated credit will be issued based on the remaining warranty period:

• 9+ plates: Credit = Original Price × (Unexpired Months ÷ 60)
• 5–7 plates: Credit = Original Price × (Unexpired Months ÷ 36)

Claim Conditions

Batteries must be tested under BCI standards and shown to supply less than 80% of 6-hour rated capacity. IronStar may either:

• Provide parts/cell replacements (warranty continues for remaining term), or
• Offer battery replacement with applicable prorated credit

Additional Terms & Exclusions

• Battery must be properly sized and used according to duty cycle at time of sale
• Limited to 1 charge/discharge cycle per 24 hours, no more than 80% depth
• Chargers must meet BCI standards and fully recharge within 24 hours
• Maintenance logs required for claim approval
• Warranty void if water level isn’t maintained with approved purified water
• Temperature range: 50°F to 115°F; outside this voids warranty
• Warranty void if misused, abused, altered, or serviced by unauthorized personnel
• Non-transferable. Applies to original purchaser only
• Does not cover mill, foundry, or similar heavy-duty applications
• Credit only applies to IronStar purchases; not redeemable for cash
